Valencia CF support Casa Caridad on charity's anniversary

Friday is a very special day for Casa Caridad Valencia, as the non-profit organisation celebrates its latest anniversary. A pioneering entity since its foundation in 1906, it helps the disadvantaged in several ways. The city of Valencia is keen to make the organisations activities visible and make March 6th 'Casa Caridad Day', and Valencia CF are habitual collaborators in doing just that as part of their #SentimentSolidari plan.

This week, Valencia CF ambassadors Ricardo Arias and Miguel Ángel Bossio visited the ‘Multicentro Social Benicalap’ facility, as well as accompanying a group of people who use the Day Centre as they took the Mestalla Forever Tour. Throughout the year, Casa Caridad undertakes more than 400,000 actions with people who all have one common denominator: A lack of resources. Valencia CF are longtime supporters of Casa Caridad.

Arias and Bossio visitl ‘Multicentro Social Benicalap’

Arias and Bossio went to the Casa Caridad centre in Benicalap, run by Director General, Guadalupe Ferrer.

"We have lodging for families here, others for convalescing people and a school for 75 children between the ages of 1-3 at risk of social exclusion. They are very grateful," explained Ferrer, whilst the Valencia CF ambassadors were delighted to meet the children at the centre and hand over club scarves as gifts.

"When you come through this door and you get to know this huge world, you feel something that is unmistakeable: Solidarity. It's a solidarity that many people have -in a disinterested way- like working here in the classrooms, or the people who come in from outside like Valencia CF. We've received a lot of affection from the kids. It's tremendous," Bossio told VCF Media.

Arias commented that "It's beautful and enriching to come on these visits. Everything is perfect, there is great attention given to the children and the families, and the facilities are beautiful. The people are lovely. I think that this is an ideal place for what it is used for, and for whom it is used.

"I think that Valencian society should know that these places exist, and Valencia CF in a way are obliged to be here to share what we have -and above all to make things easier in whatever way they can for the kids, or to simply make them have a nice day."

Ferrer concluded by praising the support given by the club.
"Valencia CF have always helped Casa Caridad in any way possible. The attention that they can give to us is very important, and it lets people see that there is another world and another reality -and that we need the help of all Valencians and Valencianistas."
 

Day Centre users take Mestalla Forever Tour

Amongst their leisure and free time activities, the users of the Casa Caridad Day Centre went to Mestalla for a tour of the stadium, getting to know the club's history in the process.

Day Centre Coordinator Nacho Torres explained that "Valencia CF represents something very emotional and intense for the city. For us, anything that means interacting with social agents is enriching, and it is society that wins.
