Valencia CF to hold minute's silence in memory of Abelardo

Valencia CF will hold a respectful minute's silence in memory of Abelardo González in the moments leading up to kickoff on Sunday's game at Mestalla. In addition, our players will wear black armbands during the game.
Abelardo González passed away aged 76. A legendary goalkeeper for the club, his career at Mestalla spanned from 1965 to 1974, during which time he was part of the 1971 LaLiga title-winning side and the team that won the Copa del Rey in 1967. Abelardo was also the recipient of the Trofeo Zamora award for best goalkeeper in the Primera División in 1971.
