Agirrezabala: “I had no doubts that Valencia CF was the right place to keep growing”
First words from the new Valencia CF goalkeeper
The combination of Valencia CF's 4-1 win over LOSC Lille and a 4-4 draw between Chelsea and Ajax at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night means that there is a three-way tie at the top of the Champions League Group H standings.
On November 27th (6:55pm CET), the team welcome Chelsea to Mestalla, whilst their following match will be against Ajax in Amsterdam. If they beat the English side at home, they will guarantee their place in the knockout stages -whatever the result of the fixture between Lille and Ajax the same day.
Should there be another tie at the top between the three teams, Valencia CF would go through at Ajax's expense, courtesy of their superior head-to-head record.
This week's victory at Mestalla guarantees that Valencia CF will continue in Europe, be it in the Champions League or -if they place third in the group- the UEFA Europa League.
