E. Barrenechea: "We are having a great second half of the season"
The Valencia CF midfielder speaks to VCF Media
Before kickoff in Valencia CF’s game against CA Osasuna on LaLiga Matchday 25, the captains of VCF Femenino and of all the VCF Academy women’s teams were welcomed onto the pitch at Mestalla to receive applause from the fans.
The action was part of the week of International Women’s Day, in which increased visibility was given to women in football by a series of initiatives.
Captains of VCF Femenino, Andrea Okene and Bea Beltrán, were joined by Blanca Garrido and Lidia García (VCF Femenino Alevín A), África Fernández and Noa Viala (VCF Alevín Femenino B), Adriana Sanz and Elena Sánchez (VCF Femenino Infantil), Diana Herrero, Martina Heras ad Miriam Pablo (VCF Femenino C), and Irene Guillem and Elena Núñez (VCF Femenino B).
It's very nice, above all for the younger players, to see what it's like pitchside and the welcome that you get from the fans. It makes them aware of what the players experience -and what we've experienced in some games,” said Beltrán of the occasion.
