Valencia CF Academy, third in Spain for players developed in professional football
Valencia CF have 38 players trained at the VCF Academy competing in 49 leagues around the world
VCF Alevín bowed out of the XXX LaLiga Promises tournament on Saturday in the quarter final stage, losing 2-0 to Real Betis.
In an evenly matched game that was goalless at half time, the Andalusian team eventually emerged victorious with two second half strikes.
The VCF Academy team had enjoyed a great tournament, in which they won 5 of their 6 games. They beat Real Sociedad (0-3), SD Eibar (4-2), SD Huesca (2-0) and Atletico Madrid (0-4) to win their group, then bested Osasuna 3-1 in the Last 16 to make their way to the quarter finals. All the while, they played impressive passing football and showed great ability.
Next week sees the postponed XXIX LaLiga Promises tournament take place. In it, the VCF Academy will send a combined VCF Infantil team to try to bring the trophy home. The competition had previously been scheduled for last year, but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
