Enzo Barrenechea, called up by Argentina National Team
Valencia CF player called up to play the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Peru.
The institutional events to celebrate Valencia CF's Copa del Rey win took place on Monday in the city, and the Plaza del Ayuntamiento town square -the scene of so many historic moments when the club have achieved success- was packed with thousands of Valencianistas.
Amidst fireworks and music, the decibels rose yet further when the players emerged onto the balcony of the city hall. There were chants, applause and the jubilant sounds of a city commemorating one of the club's most memorable years. Several members of the squad would address the crowd via a microphone.
Dani Parejo: "I want to thank you for making sure that before, during and after, both today and on Sunday, these days have been unforgettable. We deserved something like this. Thanks to everybody together we have won a trophy in our Centenary year. It's going to be something that we never forget and we will always have Valencia CF in our hearts. Thank you very much, and we will see each other again next year."
Jaume Doménech: "I thank this family, Valencia CF, for the way in which everybody has been committed since they arrived. When we put on the shirt, we feel the same pride that you do. We'd gone 11 years without winning a trophy, but we never let the team fall apart. We have been through some very tough moments this season and you've helped us. This has to make us even stronger."
Rodrigo: "Thank you for your support. We feel your affection for us so much. This has been a wonderful, unforgettable season. I've been able to win a trophy with Valencia CF. I've been here for five years, with some moments that haven't been so good, but finishing this season with a trophy is an honour for me."
Marcelino: "Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You have treated me very well since I arrived here. It's extraordinary for us to be here today. It's very difficult to win the Copa del Rey, and even more so by beating FC Barcelona, who have a great team. I have to thank all of the players. Right now I would like to bring to the fore those who participated the least, and who had to put up with me. They didn't play as much, but with their hard work they contributed to this trophy just like the rest of the players."
