The VCF Foundation and the Diputació de València have renewed an agreement by which the Diputació will contribute the sum of 60,000 euros in 2021 to aid the Escoles Cor Blanquinegre project, promoting work that has benefitted more than 3,000 students from more than 50 centres in Valencia and the surrounding region.
The project is aimed at teachers of schools and centres for minors, in neighborhoods with a difficult social context. Weekly training sessions with an educational slant make it a tool for social improvement and sport, with the objective of encouraging young people in their day-to-day lives and helping them in their personal, educational and community development.
Joey Lim, Valencia CF executive director, and Teo Swee Wei, director general of the VCF Foundation, were joined by the Diputació's Andrés Campos for the signing of the agreement.
Mr. Swee Wei said that "We are very happy to be able to compete with the support of the Diputació de València, in our objective of making a better society for everybody."
"Specifically, this agreement allows us to work together on our social projects with the Escoles Cor Blanquinegre, helping Valencian people at risk of social exclusion."
“The objective is to encourage them to progress with their studies and their integration in the community. The project has benefited more than three thousand people to date. The support of the Diputació has been -and will be- fundamental to the project benefitting more people and families."
Mr. Campos added that: "This collaboration is more necessary than ever to prevent social exclusion among young people, promote sport on an equal footing and contribute to the promotion of inclusive projects."
The Diputació will continue to support entities such as Valencia CF in their social aspects and the work they carry out in the fields of education and teaching values through sport -in this case football."
The headmistress of the Colegio Madre Petra (Torrent), Mª Teresa Rodríguez, and the headmaster of the CEIP IVAF-Luis Fortich (Valencia), Jordi Iranzo also attended. Likewise, the coordinator of VCF Inclusivo, Osvaldo Márquez, and Josep and Mateo, footballers from the team, were present.
