VCF Soccer Academy in Canada awakens interest in the country

CBS Montreal record a special feature with the women from the Valencia CF affiliated programme

Women's football continues to grow around the world. In Spain, with the professionalisation of the Liga Iberdrola and Valencia CF's integration of grassroots women's teams into the VCF Academy structure, the sport is thriving. Internationally, an increasing number of players are being coached in the VCF Soccer Academy that the club has established in strategic markets in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

The VCF Soccer Academy in Canada was recently the subject of a special report by CBC Montreal on its news channel. Interest in women's football continues to increase in the North American country after Canada won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, beating Sweden in the final in an exciting penalty shootout.

Two players from the VCF Soccer Academy in Canada answered questions from journalists at their training ground, located in the facilities of College Bourget -one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Canada, with 170 years of history.

Their dream is to one day represent Canada in official competition. "We have to train a lot and be prepared for anything," explains Jasmine Kamal, one of the players who participated in the CBC Montreal News report. Teammate Meriem Mihoubi shares the ambition, but does not rule out becoming an international for Spain.
