Voro: "We want to compete, perform at our best and win"

The Valencia CF caretaker coach spoke on Saturday ahead of the weekend LaLiga game against Real Valladolid

A responsible dressing room

"I have encountered a dressing room that are taking responsibility for the situation. During the week the team have worked very well. I didn't watch the training session earlier , but the staff people say that the attitude has been very good. Whenever there is a change of coach, this comes naturally."

Match analysis

"We have studied Real Valladolid. There is a great equality that exists in every match, and we are going to find an orderly team which have alternatives in attack. When they have been behind, they can create problems in attack. I think it will be a competitive game and evenly matched. We are already seeing that there are no games that are won easily. We are prepared to compete with the utmost possibility of achieving victory. Our first objective is to compete, so that the team are at their best and we can win the game."

Almost all players available
"Gayà and Lato are fine to play. Gayà has recovered very well after his knock. We were very concerned, but he's fine. Lato has come in over the last few days and he's ok. I will take this opportunity to say that all the players are available except Cristian, who has an ankle problem. Alex Blanco and Cutrone have been left out for tactical reasons."

A return to the dugout

"Last Monday the president told me that they had thought of bringing me in for these four games. Like other times, for me this is an act of responsibility, without any other personal objective of any kind. I consider myself a Valencianista like anybody else. If the club need me, I try to contribute my knowledge to improve the position, alongside the players and the staff. It is not an easy situation for me, but I face it with hard work and responsibility."

Aware of the situation

"We are not safe yet; that's what the maths says. There are still matches to be played this week and we need at least three points to mathematically ensure survival. This season has been very tough, and a lot can happen in football. Leaving it late is not good. The players are taking responsibility and we cannot hide from reality. In 2008 we were also in a dramatic situation. Now we have six points, but we have the disadvantage of not having our fans with us. In 2008 they gave us a boost that we can't have now."
