Against Real Betis, Daniel Wass made it to 100 appearances with Valencia CF. Since he arrived in July of 2018, his versatility and influence on the game have made him an important part of the squad.
Speaking to VCF MEDIA, the Danish international said of the milestone:“Reaching 100 games in practically two years feels good. There are many games and it is good for me to achieve this feat at a club like Valencia CF. It's important for me to have reached that feat in two years, as it means I've played a lot of games. I'm here to play."
Whether playing as a central midfielder, on either wing or as a right-back, Wass always contributes.
“I am here to help both the team and the coach, because he also knows that I can play in many positions," explains Wass who also told VCF Media that he is happy off the pitch as well.
To mark his 100 games for Valencia CF, the player picked his Top 3 games for the club
December 23rd, 2018, LaLiga: Valencia CF 2 - SD Huesca 1.
The team won with a late goal scored by Cristiano Piccini, and Wass remembers that “it is a game that means a lot to me. It was very special because it had been difficult six months, in which we had won few games, with many draws. Against Huesca we felt a lot of pressure on and off the pitch. This match meant a lot because of what came after it, when we won the Copa del Rey and qualified for the Champions League."
January 29th, 2019, Copa del Rey quarterfinals: Valencia CF 3 - Getafe CF 1.
Valencia CF faced the second leg of the quarterfinals needing to overcome a 1-0 defeat from the first leg, and managed the turnaround late on. "It was a game with a lot of crazy moments and lot of emotions; it was very special," recalls Wass.
May 25th, 2019, Copa del Rey final: FC Barcelona 1 - Valencia CF 2.
Starting on the right, the Dane had a great final, which was the crowning moment of his club career to date.
"After many years without a trophy, both for me and for everyone it was a special match," says Wass.
"The shirt from the game is very important and it means a lot to me. It is difficult to express the emotions I feel for that shirt."
