A SPECIAL GAME FOR HUGO DURO
Hugo Duro's grandparents visited Mestalla for the first time
The Champions League temporarily put on the backburner, Valencia CF have been training on Thursday and Friday with LaLiga in mind, as they take on Real Sociedad in San Sebastian on Saturday from 6:30pm CET. The team have won their last two away games against the Txuri-Urdin, and aim to extend that run to three on Matchday 25.
Last season, a 0-1 triumph came courtesy of a Kevin Gameiro goal, whilst in 2017/18 a 2-3 win saw VCF claim the three points.
Two wins from as many away trips is a record that Valencia CF only hold against three top flight sides: Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan and Granada at the Nuevo Los Carmenes.
A victory this weekend would also hand a goal average over La Real, whom they lead by a single point in the league table. The two sides drew 1-1 earlier this term.
Real Sociedad have won their last five games at the Reale Arena in all competitions: Against RCD Mallorca (3-0) and Athletic Club (2-1) in LaLiga, and against RCD Espanyol (2-0), CA Osasuna (3-1) and Mirandés (2-1) in the Copa del Rey.
