The Valencia CF striker reviews the meeting with Getafe CF on VCF Media
Diego López spoke to VCF Media at the conclusion of the match against Getafe CF, which Valencia CF won 1-0 at home.
Diakhaby
The message the whole week was to fight and give our all in today's game for Diakhaby. We wanted to dedicate this victory to him and thankfully we were able to do that.
Reaching 40 points
We had been competing well and achieving draws at home against Real Madrid and against a Sevilla side who are currently on the up. I think that every time you get points it is good, even if it is a draw at home. Today we got back to winning ways and I think it is an important victory for us to reach 40 points and, why not?, perhaps fight for Europe.
A difficult game
Everyone knows that Getafe are a team against whom it is very difficult to break through the lines and get chances. I think we scored the one chance we had and then we had some counterattacks at the end in which we could have scored the second. We won 1-0 and we kept a clean sheet again. We must congratulate the defence, because today the centre backs were impeccable and they had a lot of work to do. We leave very happy. With 40 points I think we can aspire to many things.
Playing in a mask
The mask is not the most comfortable thing in the world, but there is no choice but to play with it. I have enough visibility, but I'm going to fight with the doctors to have it removed now because it continues to be annoying for me. I continue doing my thing, I try to create danger in space and I will be ready for whatever the coach asks of me. Wherever I play, I'm going to help the team -because we all help a lot. Whoever plays, either as a starter or as a substitute, gives their all - and that says a lot about us.
