Valencia CF played this Saturday afternoon, April 20, the match corresponding to the 32nd round of LALIGA EA Sports 2023-24 against Real Betis. The match played at Mestalla ended with a 1-2 defeat. Pepelu scored the goal for VCF.

Valencia CF came out with great impetus and intensity and as a result, the first approaches came through the right flank with the associations between Thierry and Pepelu, although without any reward. The early stages of the match were passing and midway through the first half, in a play on the left flank, Isco passed to Ayoze Perez inside the area and the Betis player scored the first goal.

However, Valencia CF did not stop insisting and before the end of the first half they came close to an equalizer in a play in which Almeida sent a pass over the top to Hugo Duro and, finally, Cenk was very close to scoring the equalizer for our team. That was the end of the first half.

After the break, the team coached by Baraja and with the support of the fans looked for the equalizer, which came in the 66th minute after an action in which Miranda hit Hugo Duro in the face in the fight for a ball in the area. Pepelu scored from the spot. Minutes later, Peter Federico came close to giving Valencia CF the lead with a great shot from the left flank of the box, but Rui Silva had to make a great save to deflect the ball away. However, in a play in which Ayoze broke down the left flank, close to the Valencia CF area, he shot and after a deflection from a local player, the ball went into the goal.

Valencia CF did not give up and continued to insist in search of a draw on the scoreboard. The moves came, but without the reward of a goal and Alberto Marí came very close after finishing a cross from Jesús Vázquez, but the ball did not want to go in.

After this result, Valencia CF is in eighth place in the standings with 47 points and will be looking for a win when they travel to the Estadi Lluís Companys to face FC Barcelona next Monday, April 29th at 21:00.
