Solidarity witnesses

Mestalla was a great example and an aid hub for the collection of foodstuffs and basic essentials.

The Club made Mestalla available to the public as a collection point for food and basic necessities, and the response of solidarity from the Valencia CF fanbase and the rest of society alike was massive, giving rise to a constant showcase of generosity from all around.

One of these people who touched us with her great solidarity was Isabel Muñoz Collado, who did not hesitate to go to Mestalla to help in any way possible as a volunteer. "My daughter is in Chiva and they are helping her there. So, as long as I can, I can help. I was born to serve and dedicate myself to aiding deaf-blind people, I am an ONCE volunteer’, she says.

Like her, thousands of people from all over Spain and the world came to the Valencian stadium. "We came all the way from Huesca. I had all the vans available and we managed to load five of them to the top with essential material. We decided to come without thinking about it to show our help and that we wanted to collaborate, explains Belén Almudévar.

More than a thousand tonnes of solidarity

From Wednesday 30 October to Sunday 3 November,   one thousand tonnes more than one million kilograms of food and basic essentials (1,056,750 kg) were received at  Mestalla thanks to the collaboration of hundreds of citizens, volunteers from the Valencia Food Bank and CaixaBank volunteers who have been distributing them to the most affected municipalities.

Todo aquel que quiera realizar donaciones de alimentos y productos de primera necesidad deberá realizarlas a través del Banco de Alimentos de Valencia.
