Valencia CF travelled to the UK to take on Nottingham Forest at Meadow Lane, drawing 1-1 with the side who will return to the Premier League this seaso.
The game started at a high tempo at both ends, with Valencia CF dictating possession in the early going.
The first Valencia CF chance fell to Gonçalo Guedes in the 4th minute, as he broke into the 18-yard box and tested goalkeeper Dean Henderson with a powerful drive -forcing the Englishman into a stop.
Valencia CF continued to pile the pressure onto the opposition as the game saw an end-to-end spell towards the quarter-hour mark, showing constant menace in the opposition area.
Giorgi Mamardashvili survived a scare after rushing off his line halfway through the first half, as Jesse Lingard hit the upright from the chance.
Marcos André came close to opening the scoring past the half-hour mark after a nifty exchange just outside the box, but his effort fizzed wide of the post. Minutes later, Thierry Correia collected the ball and tried a shot which found its way over the bar.
Carlos Soler broke the deadlock in the dying embers of the first half, finishing off a move started by a Yunus Musah collection, before he ran upfield and threaded through to Gonçalo Guedes. The Portuguese burst down the flank to set up Soler to slam home.
Valencia CF edged Nottingham Forest 0-1 at halftime at Meadow Lane.
Valencia CF had a slow start to the second half, the opposition turning up the tempo and looking to equalise from the get-go.
Thus, they showcased their defensive mettle for the majority of the second stanza, amidst plenty of stoppages.
Nottingham Forest equalised late on in the second half through Brennan Johnson. Both sides kept pushing to score the winner -Jaume Domenech denying Forest the winner with a huge save from Johnson- but the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Valencia CF will take on CD Castellón on Wednesday, August 3rd at the Nou Estadi Castalia, in an 8:45pm kick-off.
