Ng Ser Miang elected vice-president of IOC

The Valencia CF director was voted into the position on the International Olympic Committee

Ng Ser Miang, director of Valencia CF and president of the Board of Trustees of the VCF Foundation, has been elected vice-president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

After the departure of Juan Antonio Samaranch and Ugur Erdener, the Singaporean was named vice-president with 82 votes in favour and 3 against, in the body's 136th session, held virtually this past Friday.

Ng Ser Miang has worked as a member of the IOC for more than two decades, occupying numerous roles within the entity. He was vice-president between 2009 and 2013, as well as being chairman of the IOC Finance Commission, a member of the IOC Coordination Commission for the 2008 (Beijing) and 2012 (London) Olympics, as well as chairman of the IOC Evaluation Commission in 2011 and 2013.

He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Singapore National Olympic Committee and president of the Singapore Olympic Foundation, whilst he played a key role in bringing the Youth Olympic Games to Singapore in 2010.
