Baraja: "tHE TEAM kePT going AND COMPETED UNTIL THE END"
The Valencia CF coach talks after the 2-2 result against Deportivo Alavés
In the current climate of an exceptional health crisis on a global scale, due to the lethal COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, and the indefinite forced suspension of activity due to the State of Alert decreed by the Spanish government, Valencia CF wish to express their satisfaction at having reached an agreement this Monday to adjust to this situation, maintain a commitment to protecting the jobs of all employees -and the salaries of the immense majority, through individual agreements and an Expediente de Regulación Temporal de Empleo (ERTE), the furlough method devised for situations in which activity is reduced due to force majeure.
Faced with the forecast of a large reduction in income, the will of the first team and VCF Academy players and coaching staff, as well as those in positions on the board, has always been to help and guarantee the economic sustainability of the club at a time of doubt and an uncertain future for all.
With the priority of keeping the commitment to protect those workers most vulnerable in light of the uncertain development of the situation, Valencia CF will provide a compliment to the income of a very high percentage of employees. The club wish to particularly thank the first team for their solidarity, through a salary reduction, helping the entity to protect all workers and their families in such difficult circumstances.
As an entity with over 100 years of history and the main civil institution in the Valencia region, Valencia CF are more dedicated than ever to being a point of reference, an example of commitment and a source of help for a society hurt by unprecedented circumstances, especially in the most vulnerable sectors. The club are doing this through diverse initiatives and will continue to do so in a special way for the duration of the effects of the crisis.
Likewise, Valencia CF wish to publicly express support for all those affected by the pandemic, express our deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones and offer strength to those who continue fighting to overcome this illness. In particular, the club wish to express recognition and gratitude to those -many of whom are Valencianistas- who are fighting every day on the frontline to help end as soon as possible this situation that has shaken our society.
AMUNT VALENCIA!
