8 players have represented Valencia CF during this international selection break in March. Valencia CF players have been protagonists in their matches.
Euro 2024 Qualification
Mamardashvili and Yaremchuk qualified for the European Championship 2024 after beating Iceland and Greece, respectively, in the finals of the Euro qualification play-offs.
The Georgian goalkeeper led the semi-final win over Luxembourg with a great clean sheet performance and in the final, he was instrumental in saving a penalty in the shootout against Greece to help Georgia qualify for the first time in their history to a European Championship.
The Ukrainian striker also starred in the semifinals against Bosnia, scoring a goal and providing an assist in the comeback against the Bosnian side. In the final, he scored again, but his goal was disallowed for offside. However, Ukraine managed to beat Iceland and thus secure a place in the next European Championship.
After these victories, Georgia is placed in group F with Turkey, Portugal and the Czech Republic; Ukraine in group E with Belgium, Slovakia and Romania.
Under-21 Eurocup Qualification
Valencia CF has been the club that has contributed the most players to the national team coached by Santi Denia. Cristhian Mosquera, Javi Guerra, Fran Pérez and Diego López are closer to qualifying the 'Rojita' for the European Championship, which will be played in 2025.
The U-21 team played an international friendly against Slovakia in which Diego López and Fran Pérez were in the starting lineup. Javi Guerra and Mosquera -who made his debut with the national U-21 team- came on in the second half. After this match, Spain played its sixth qualifier for Euro 2025 against Belgium. Mosquera and Diego López were starters and in the second half Fran Pérez -very energetic in the actions- and Javi Guerra -he gave the assist for the victory- appeared.
With this victory, Spain maintains the leadership of group B with 16 points and puts 3 points before their pursuers, Scotland and Belgium.
Qualifying for the European Under-19 Championship
Yarek Gasiorowski has started 2 of the 3 matches of the Spanish U-19 National Team qualifying for the next European Championship of the category, which will be played in Northern Ireland from July 3 to 16.
Spain competed in the Elite Round against Slovenia, Kosovo and Austria. The U-19 team drew against the Slovenian team and won against the Kosovar and Austrian teams.
The Valencian defender has had an influential performance in these games as, for example, thanks to his header against Slovenia generated the equalizer and also scored a goal in the final moments, although it was finally annulled.
The player from Polinyà del Xúquer would play his second European Youth Championship after having done it last year with the 2004 generation.
Preparatory for Euro 2024
Cenk Özcakar has been called up again with Turkey for the friendly matches against Hungary and Austria that have served to prepare the European Championship 2024. The Valencia defender was a starter against the Austrian team.
