Valencia CF players Yarek Gasiorowski and Raúl Jiménez have qualified for the semifinals of the U-19 European Championship after drawing in the last match of Group B against France. With this qualification they also get a place for the U-20 World Cup in Chile.
The Spanish team came in second place with 5 points after one win (against Denmark) and two draws (Turkey and France), behind the French team itself, which scored 7 points with two wins (Turkey and Denmark) and a draw (Spain).
One of the players who is standing out the most during this U-19 European Championship is the Valencianista central defender, Yarek. The player from Polinyà del Xúquer continues to increase his great goalscoring records with the U-19, scoring a goal against Turkey. With 6 goals he is the player who accumulates more goals in his participations with the Spanish U-19 team and the one who has played more matches (26).
Spain will play the semifinals against Italy next Thursday, July 25, at 15:00. A special match, as the Italian coach Bernardo Corradi was a Valencia CF player in the 2004-05 season, in which he played 35 games, scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists. He also participated in winning the 2005 European Super Cup title.
