Luis Rioja: “We have to go to Vallecas to win and take another step towards our goal”
The Valencia CF attacker spoke to the media in a press conference at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna
This past Friday, during the first LaLiga match of the 2021/22 season for Valencia CF against Getafe CF, the first ‘ADN Mestalla Solidari’ event took place at Mestalla. An initiative by the club that seeks to give visibility and support to Valencian NGOs and Charitable Associations, it is set to be part of every home game that Valencia CF play this season.
Rafael Gandía, regional president of the Cruz Roja (Red Cross), was welcomed by Valencia CF president Anil Murthy and Getafe CF president Ángel Torres in the Sala Juan Sol, where the traditional exchange of institutional gifts was made and the work of the NGO was presented. The Cruz Roja thanked Valencia CF for the invitation and showed their satisfaction at the collaboration programme.
During 2020, a year affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cruz Roja Juventud continued to stand by those who needed help, maintaining its essential programmes and intensifying its activity with the most vulnerable members of society. To do this, they launched the 'Red Cross Responde' programme in coordination with all public administrations. This action was made possible thanks to the 60,000 people who collaborated throughout 2020.
Valencia CF have a firm commitment to helping the most vulnerable sectors in the region, as show with last season's 'Sempre Falles' project to support the Falleros Artists Guild.
The new initiative will run at every game played at Mestalla this term, and will spread the good work done by so many NGOs and Charities.
