Five players from the VCF Academy featured in the starting eleven in Valencia CF's game against RCD Espanyol. Carlos Soler, Kang In, Ferran Torres, Hugo Guillamón and Jaume Costa all featured from kickoff at Mestalla, in a match that the team won 1-0.
All of the quintet played important roles in the contest, and the win allows Valencia CF to keep dreaming of a spot in the Europa League next season, thanks to adverse results for their rivals in matches held concurrently around Spain.
Guillamón occupied the centre of the defence alongside Mouctar Diakhaby, with Costa at left back. Soler was in the centre of the midfield on his 150th appearance for the club, at the age of just 23.
Voro used Torres on the right wing, with Kang In feeatured in a spot close to goalscorer Kevin Gameiro in the attack. The South Korean played 62 minutes before being subbed off, making way for Francis Coquelin.
The inclusion of the young stars from the start was a display of things to come from Valencia CF, who have a strong commitment to youth and players brought up through the highly successful VCF Academy.
