Valencia CF played their fourth preseason fixture against Deportivo Alavés back at the Antonio Puchades on Saturday, July 29th at 7 pm kick-off time as Valencia CF chased their fourth preseason win in as many games playing in the second strip.
Valencia CF had a positive start to the game where Valencia CF tried to stamp their authority in the game in the opening ten minutes of the first half. The game evened out halfway through the first half with chances few and far between for either side.
Valencia CF tried to make inroads going forward over the half-hour mark trying to break down the steely Deportivo Alavés through fast breaks. José Luis Gayà came mighty close to breaking the deadlock in a one-on-one situation against Sivera who denied our captain from close range following a fine collective move.
Cenk Özkacar broke the deadlock in the closing minutes of the first-half smartly getting on the end of a pinpoint Hugo González delivery to turn the ball home at the back post and put Valencia CF in front.
Valencia CF edged Deportivo Alavés at the break by a 1-0 scoreline at the Antonio Puchades.
Valencia CF came out quick off the blocks looking to double their lead with a flurry of chances in the early goings of the second stanza with Valencia CF penning Alavés back inside their own 18-yard box.
Rubén Baraja made wholesale changes on the hour mark as Valencia kept on dictating the tempo of the game and they kept on using looking to play through Alavés.
Two minutes later, persistence paid dividends in the manner of Martín Tejón who slotted the ball home past Sivera to double the lead for Valencia CF.
The scoreline remained unchanged and Valencia CF kept their perfect start to the preseason with their fourth win in as many games.
Valencia CF will host Aston Villa FC on Saturday the 5th of August at 9 pm in the curtain raiser in front of the Mestalla faithful where they will try to sign off from the preseason with yet another win.
